Canyon Overlook

Location: Utah, Canyon Rims Rec Area, Needles Overlook

Now part of the Bear's Ears NM, this special view overlooked the fin where I had hiked cross-country earlier in spring. I camped within hiking distance of this location, in order to start painting as soon as the light hit the fin. If you hike the trail to the viewpoint, first look for the juniper, then look northeast.
